sudo apt update

wget https://dl.google.com/linuxdirect/google-chrome-stable_current_amd64.deb

Now, it’s time to execute the downloaded file. The downloaded .deb file can be installed using the dpkg utility.

sudo dpkg -i google-chrome-stable_current_amd64.deb.1

Now, at last run the following command to check the version of the installed Google Chrome.

google-chrome --version

In this method, you need to download the latest version of Google Chrome from the website of Google Chrome.

Download Google Chrome Now 

Once your download is completed, you can now start the installation. Normally, downloaded files are stored in Downloads directory. To access it,  open Files on your system and navigate to Downloads. You will find the downloaded .deb file of Google Chrome. Go through the following steps to install the Chrome.

  • Right-click on it and select the option to Open with > App Center > Open.
  • Click the Install button to start the installation. You will be prompted to enter your password of Ubuntu for authentication.

Once the installation is complete, you can verify that Google Chrome is available by searching for it in your applications and see the whether the Google Chrome with the particular version is there or not.
