Ubuntu 23.04 “Lunar Lobster” Reached End of Life

Ubuntu 23.04 “Lunar Lobster” has reached end of life.
As of  January 25th, 2024, Ubuntu 23.04 “Lunar Lobster” has reached end of life.  Launched in April 2023, this nine-month lifespan of the Ubuntu 23.04 Lunar Lobster is over and it is recommended to upgrade your system to the newer version if you are using Ubuntu 23.0

Ubuntu 23.04 was released earlier this year on April 20th, 2023. Ubuntu 23.04 shipped with the GNOME 44 desktop environment series and  Linux 6.2 kernel. Canonical will no longer release software and security updates to Ubuntu 23.04 systems making it wide open to the all possible threats.

How To Upgrade To Ubuntu 23.10 “Mantic Minotaur”?

Before You Begin:

  • Backup your important files
  • Ensure a stable internet connection
  • Make sure you have enough battery if you are using Laptop

 

Open the Update Manager: Click on the “Activities” button in the top left corner of your screen and search for “Software Updater.” Alternatively, you can also press the Super key (Windows logo key) and type “Software Updater” to launch the application. Click the “Check” button to check for available updates. The Update Manager will scan for the possible new packages and inform you if any are available.

If the Update Manager identifies any pending updates for Ubuntu 23.04, it’s recommended to install them before proceeding with the upgrade. Click the “Install Now” button to download and install these updates.Once all pending updates are installed, click the “Upgrade to Ubuntu 23.10” button. The Update Manager will download and install the necessary packages for the upgrade. When the upgrade is complete, you need  restart your system. Click the “Restart Now” button to reboot your computer and enjoy the latest version.
