Zorin OS 18 Beta is now officially available for the download.
According to the team behind Zorin OS, Zorin OS 18 can be the perfect replacement for those users who are using Windows 10 as Windows 10 is reaching its end of life on 14 October 2025, an estimated 240 million computers1 that don’t meet Windows 11’s strict hardware requirements will be left behind. Zorin OS 18 beta introduces an updated default theme featuring a floating panel with rounded edges that complements the system’s overall design. It also includes a new workspace indicator, an advanced window tiling manager to enhance productivity, and a built-in Web Apps tool for simpler installation of your favorite apps.
Some of the changes that you can find in the latest version are:
- The Files app has some cool updates as it features an updated sidebar and reorganized controls for enhanced ease of use.
- The Settings app includes redesigned preference panels throughout, which have also been arranged to be simpler to navigate.
- The Calendar app now adds a new sidebar with a concise month & events view.
- A new Camera app replaces Cheese as it introduces a cleaner interface for taking photos & videos while making it easier to switch between your device’s cameras.
- The Evolution mail app features a new, modernized interface that seamlessly integrates with the rest of the system.
Seamless integration with Web Apps
These days with so many apps now being cloud-based, the line between Progressive Web Apps and native apps is starting to blur. In Zorin OS 18, these apps can now live side by side, just like regular desktop apps. The new Web Apps tool makes it super easy to turn any website into a desktop app with just a few clicks. These web apps will show up in your start menu, and you can use them just like any other app on your computer. Plus, the tool works with popular web browsers, so you can personalize each web app to suit your needs.

You can download the Zorin OS 18 Core Beta today from the link below. Upgrades from Zorin OS 17 to 18 are not yet available, but will be active shortly after the stable release of Zorin OS 18 in the coming weeks.
