Step 1
Install GSConnect for default GNOME Desktop
Run the following command in your Ubuntu terminal to install the package:
sudo apt install gnome-shell-extension-gsconnect
and Run the following command to install Chrome Gnome Shell agent.
sudo apt install chrome-gnome-shell
After installing GSConnect, You need to launch either “GNOME Extensions” or “Extension Manager” and Then, turn ON to enable the new extension. Now, you will be able to see “Mobile Devices” menu option in the top right corner system status menu.
2. Install KDE Connect App in your Smart Phone
Now, It’s time to install KDE connect App in your iPhone. You can install KDE Connect in iOS from the App Store. After installing KDE Connect app in your iPhone, you should go to “Settings” and grant Local Network and WLAN access permissions. It will enable your phone to find your PC devices in same network.
Now, It’s time to pair your device and the Ubuntu system:
- open KDE Connect or toggle ON GSConnect in top-right system menu and open the Mobile Settings on your Laptop or PC.
- open KDE Connect app on iPhonee.
Once paired, You can easily send files, remote input, run command, slideshow remote, etc, actions from iPhone to your Ubuntu system.
